Tutoring Approach: I believe that learning is an extremely individual process, and my job as a tutor is to recognize the different ways that students learn. This way, I can fully immerse students in the learning process. Mathematics in particular can be a daunting subject for many students, but with humor and a willingness to engage students where they are at rather than where I want them to be, I hope that I can make math fun.

Approach:
I believe that students require a conceptual understanding of material to succeed. I challenge students to explain concepts to me and to justify their answers as best they can in order to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts put forth, as opposed to simply reciting facts. I also challenge students to apply overarching concepts to new situations.
I also believe that a genuine interest in the material has a significant impact on performance. I work with students in a way that sparks curiosity, enjoyment and engagement, thereby opening their minds to the material. This also fosters the motivation necessary to practice the material and develop their understanding.

I find it incredibly gratifying to help my peers grasp material they struggle with. The experience of watching my peers succeed because of my contribution is a very rewarding one.
