8 Based on Table H, what is the vapor pressure of ethanol at 50.°C?

(1) 12 kPa

(2) 29 kPa

(3) 63 kPa

(4) 83 kPa


Solution:

Lets look at table H on the Reference Table. The x-axis is temperature and the y-axis is vapor pressure. We need to find the graph for ethanol and and then find 50C. Go up on the graph until we reach ethanol line. Then look to the left to read the vapor pressure. Vapor pressure is around 30 kPa, choice 2 is the correct answer.
