(1) A bond is broken as energy is absorbed.

(2) A bond is broken as energy is released.

(3) A bond is formed as energy is absorbed.

(4) A bond is formed as energy is released.


Solution:


When a bond is broken, energy is absorbed and when a bond is formed energy is released. When two fluorine atoms come together to created one fluorione molecule, a bons is formed and energy is released. Choice 4 is the correct answer.
