What is the half-life of this isotope?

(1) 5.0 d

(2) 8.0 d

(3) 8.7 d

(4) 10.0 d



Solution:


The isotope starts with the mass of 20mg. Half life represents the time it takes for it to decay to 1/2 of its mass, which would be 10 mg. 10 mg is at around 8 days, Choice 2 is the correct answer choice.
